2 Line Verses
When a loved one becomes a memory,
That memory becomes a treasure
Tenderly we treasure the past,
With memories that will always last.
Always in our thoughts
Forever in our hearts
Remembering you on this day,
Comforted by so many memories.
The tears in my eyes I can wipe away,
The ache in my heart will always stay.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal…
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
Though absent you are very near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
In the hearts of those who loved you
You will always be there
Thoughts today,
Memories forever.
A little tribute, small and tender,
Just to say we still remember.
Dearer still as the years depart
He lives forever in my heart.
Together in the same old way,
Would be my dearest wish today.
Memories are like threads of gold,
They never tarnish or grow old.
We have loved her in life,
let us not forget her in death
4 Line Verses
Thank you for loving and sharing,
For giving and for caring.
God bless you and keep you,
Until we meet again.
In our hearts your memory lingers,
Sweetly tender, fond and true,
There is not a day, dear Mother (Father),
That we do not think of you.
Your gentle face and patient smile
With sadness we recall
You had a kindly word for each
And died beloved by all.
Your life was a blessing
your memory a treasure…
You are loved beyond words
and missed beyond measure…
No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God can tell us why.
As (her/his) spirit soars in flight
Here is a candle for you to light
And with the flicker of this flame
Say a prayer in (her/his) name
Our thoughts are ever with you
Though you have passed away.
And those who loved you dearly
Are thinking of you today.
Everyday in some small way
Memories of you come our way.
Though absent, you are always near
missed, loved and always dear.
Your presence I/we miss,
Your memory I/we treasure,
Loving you always,
Forgetting you never.
Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
We can’t have old days back
When we were all together.
But secret tears and loving thoughts
Will be with us forever.
No matter how life changes,
No matter what we do,
A special place within our hearts,
Will always be kept for you.
Our joys will be greater
Our love will be deeper
Our lives will be fuller
Because we shared your moment
If tears could build a stairway,
and memories a lane, I’d walk
right up to heaven and bring you
home again.
Long Verses
If we could have a lifetime wish
and one dream that could come true
We would pray to God with all our
hearts just to see and speak to you
A thousand words won’t bring you back
We know because we’ve tried
and neither will a million tears
We know because we’ve cried
You’ve left behind our broken hearts
and precious memories too
But we’ve never wanted memories
We only wanted you
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am a diamond glint of snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you awake in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight
I am the soft star shine at night
Do not stand by my grave and cry
I am not there…
I did not die.
We thought of you today
But that is nothing new
We thought of you yesterday
And will tomorrow too
We think of you in silence
And make no outward show
For what it meant to lose you
Only those who love you know
Remembering you is easy
We do it everyday
Its the heartache of losing you
That will never go away
The moment that you died
my heart was torn in two,
one side filled with heartache,
the other died with you.
I often lie awake at night,
when the world is fast asleep,
and take a walk down memory lane,
with tears upon my cheeks.
Remembering you is easy,
I do it everyday,
but missing you is heartache
that never goes away.
I hold you tightly within my heart
and there you will remain.
God knows how much I miss you,
Never shall your memory fade,
Loving thoughts shall ever wander,
To the spot where you are laid.
Though absent you are ever near,
Still missed and loved, always dear.
Loving memories we will never forget,
Sadly missed along life’s way,
With silent thought and deep regret,
We think of you every day,
No longer in our life to share,
But in our hearts he’s always there.
We hold you close within our hearts,
And there you shall remain,
To walk with us throughout our lives,
Until we meet again.
So rest in peace Dear loved one
And thanks for all you’ve done,
We pray that God has given you,
The crown you’ve truly won.
God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you
and whispered “Come to Me”.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands now rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you,
and whispered “Come to Me”.
With tearful eyes we watched you,
we watched you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands now rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
Thank You Verses
Perhaps you sent a lovely card,
or sat quietly in a chair.
Perhaps you sent a funeral spray,
if so, we saw it there.
Perhaps you spoke the kindest words,
As any friend could say,
Perhaps you were not there at all,
Just thought of us that day.
Whatever you did to console our hearts,
We thank you so very much, whatever the part.
We thank you For your kindness,
for being there to support us,
and showing us you care.
We pray in turn that you’ll be blessed,
By the loving hand of God.
We pray your day is filled with peace,
We will keep you in our hearts.
Words cannot express how grateful
our family is for your generous support,
encouraging words, thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for thinking of us in our time of need.
We pray in turn that you’ll be blessed
By the loving hand of God.
At difficult times like these we are reminded
of the importance of family and friends.
Thank you for the acts of kindness
you have shown us.
We greatly appreciate it
and you will always be in our thoughts.
Thank you for your acts of kindness
And for being there in our time of sadness
Your kind expression of sympathy
will always be held in
grateful remembrance.
Dearest parents,
You are in God’s Kingdom
The glory of His universe
Eternally the peace and joy
Flow like a watering-can.
God knows how much we miss them,
Never shall their memory fade;
Our loving thoughts ever wander,
To the place where they are laid.
We remember and cherish the
happy times together
Remembering them today
and forever
He longed to be with her
Now God has them in His keeping
We have them in our hearts
We will always cherish you with love
Our Lord Jesus knew
what was best
He took them home for eternal rest
We wiped our tears
and tried not to be sad
And remember
the precious times we had
While you, dear Mother, rest and sleep,
Your loving memory we’ll always keep.
If Roses grow in Heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me
Place them in my Mother’s arms
And tell her they’re from me
Tell her I love her and miss her
And when she turns to smile
Place a kiss upon her cheek
And hold her for awhile
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day
But there’s an ache within my heart
Because I am missing her today…
He/She wasn’t a hero known by the world
But a hero he/she was to his little girl/boy.
I knew his/her voice before I could speak
And loved it when he/she would sing me to sleep.
He/She taught us life’s lessons of right from wrong
And instilled in us values that we might be strong.
And so through the years like a hero he/she stood
Working to give all that he/she could.
His/Her presence was important and we loved to see him/her smile
For no one in the world could emulate his/her style.
And so dear Dad/Mom my best memory to recall
Is the gift of your presence
The greatest gift of all.
Childrens Verses
Mom holds her children’s hands for awhile,
Their hearts forever.
Suffer little children
To come unto Me.
Sweet little flower of heavenly birth,
She was too fair to bloom on earth.
“Angel”Tear drops, slow and steady, the pain so real and true,
God took another angel, and that angel, dear, was you.Angel wings, upon the clouds, your body softly sleeps,
Hush now little princess, no more tears you have to weep.Memories and little prayers, we all are mourning you,
But we’ll celebrate the short life you led; we will never forget you.I know God will look after you, now you are truly alive,
Your spirit soars beyond the moon, your legacy will survive. You’re beautiful, you’re endless, now stretch your wings and fly,
We love you so, I love you so, but now we say goodbye.Close your pretty eyes, no more tears, just go and rest,
Let your soul lie peacefully, we know you did your best.It was your time, so as we cry, go forward that extra mile,
You did what you were sent to do, you made everybody smile.
Sorry I didn’t get to stay,
To laugh and let you watch me play.
I know you need me by your side,
I’m sorry that I had to die.
I’m gone but please look up and see,
There’s a beautiful God right next to me.
God didn’t take me because he was mad,
God didn’t take me to make you sad.
But to give us both a chance to be,
A love so precious, can’t you see?
Up here no trouble do I see,
And pretty Angels sing to me.
The streets of gold where I play,
You’ll come to be with me some day.
Until the day you join me here,
I’ll love you deeply and I’ll be near.
Each breeze you feel and stars you see,
Brings love and kisses just from me.
This day will be a celebration
of the short time you were here.
You will always be remembered
with great love and many tears.
But to only feel pain and sorrow
would not be fair to you.
Your life meant so much more to us,
more than words could say.
You were here so briefly,
I wonder if you knew
all the ways you’ve touched
our world and our hearts
and everyone who knew you
since the day God called you home.
Now my child, you’re an angel
with your heavenly Father above,
we see not only what we’ve lost
but our capacity of love.
There will always be a big void
in our life and a hole in our
hearts that will never heal.
Our souls will grieve forever.
Will we forget or stop loving you?
No! Not now…not ever.
As this day is upon us,
oh, how our hearts still hurt.
But even as I mourn your death,
we will always celebrate your birth.
It was the happiest day of our lives.
O precious tiny sweet little one you will always be to me,
so perfect, pure and innocent just as you were meant to be.
We dreamed of you and of your life and all that it would be,
we waited and longed for you to come and join our family.
We never had the chance to play, to laugh to rock to wiggle,
we long to hold you, touch you now and listen to you giggle.
I will always be your mother, he’ll always be your dad,
you will always be our child, the child that we had.
But now you’re gone…but yet you’re here,
we’ll sense you everywhere,
you are our sorrow and our joy, there’s love in every tear.
Just know our love goes deep and strong,
we’ll forget you never.
The child we had, but never had and yet we’ll have forever.
We are connected, my child and I,
by an invisible cord not seen by the eye.
It’s not like the cord that connected us ’till birth,
this cord can’t be seen by anyone on earth.
This cord does its work, right from the start,
it bonds us together, attached at the heart.
I know that its there though no one can see,
the invisible cord, from my child to me.
The strength of this cord, it’s hard to describe.
it can’t be destroyed, it can’t be denied.
It’s stronger than any cord, man could create,
it withstands the tests, can hold any weight.
And though you are gone, not here with me,
the cord is still there, but no one can see.
It pulls at my heart, I am bruised….I am sore,
but this cord is my lifeline, as never before.
I am thankful that God connected this way,
a mother and a child, death can’t take it away!
In tears we saw you sinking,
And watched you pass away.
Our hearts were almost broken,
We wanted you to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping,
So peaceful, free from pain,
How could we wish you back with us,
To suffer that again. It broke our hearts to
lose you, But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.
Prayers
May Christ support us all the day long,
till the shadows lengthen,
and the evening comes,
and the busy world is hushed,
and the fever of life is over
and our work is done.
Then in his mercy
may he give us a safe lodging,
and holy rest and peace at the last.Amen.
Guardian Angel from heaven so bright,
Watching beside me to lead me aright,
Fold thy wings round me, and guard me with love,
Softly sing songs to me of heaven above.
Amen.
When I must leave you for a little while
please do not grieve and shed wild tears
and hug your sorrow to you through the years
but start out bravely with a gallant smile;
and for my sake and in my name live on and
do all things the same,
feed not your loneliness on empty days,
but fill each waking hour in useful ways,
reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer
and I in turn will comfort you and hold you near;
and never, never be afraid to die,
for I am waiting for you in the sky!
Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.
Remember, O most gracious
Virgin Mary, that never was it known
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thine
intercession was left unaided. Inspired
by this confidence, I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to
thee do I come, before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the
Word Incarnate, despise not my
petitions, but in thy mercy hear
and answer me. Amen.
Those we love must someday pass
beyond our present sight…
Must leave us and the world
we know without their radiant light.
But we know that like a candle their
lovely light will surely shine to
brighten up another place more perfect…
more divine. And in the realm of
Heaven where they shine so warm and bright.
Our loved ones live forevermore
in God’s eternal light.
I am home in heaven, dear ones;
oh, so happy and so bright!
There is a perfect joy and
beauty in the everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
safely home in heaven at last.
There is work still waiting for you,
so you must not idly stand, do it now,
while life remaineth– you shall
rest in God’s own land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you home;
oh, the rapture of that meeting
oh, the joy to see you come!
